What's New?

2003

Dec. 31/03  Sasha, Jiggs and Zoe turned 11 year's young!  Happy Birthday to the dogs from my first litter!

Dec. 6 & 7/03 - Jupiter earned 4 points at the Brantford & District shows under judges Robert Ennis and Donald Emslie.  An the Saturday show, she took Best of Opposite Sex over 2 Specials under Judge Ennis!

During October and November, over a 36 day period, Mila and Susan Scobie completed Mila's Field Dog (FD) title, Agility Intermediate (AGI), Utility Dog (UD) & Obedience Trial Champion (OTCH) titles!  All together in 2003, they earned 5 difficult titles in 3 areas - obedience, tracking & agility -  as well as passing scores towards 2 more titles in agility and field.  What tremendous accomplishments for a young dog of 4.5 years and what an awesome dog and handler team!  We are SOOOO proud!

Nov. 15/03 - Keira earned her 2nd CKC Agility leg in Novice A with a clean run, score of 100 and FIRST place at the Golden Retriever Club of Ontario's agility trial, Royal Winter Fair in front of a crowd of at least 1,500 spectators!

Nov. 6/03 - Keira earned her first leg in AKC Novice A, Jumpers with Weaves at the Vizsla Club of America's National Specialty Show Agility Trial with a clean run, score of 100 & 2nd place!

Oct. 12/03.  17803  visitors.  Keira earned her first CKC Agility leg in Novice A with a clean run & score of 100!

Oct. 4/03  Our last puppy which we called ChaCha, and which is now known as "Katya", left for her new home so we have no more puppies available.  Nova earned her first leg towards her American Companion Dog (obedience) title on Sept. 27.

Sept. 23/03  Gryphon has become our first International Champion!  Way to go Gryphon & owner Elizabeth Packer.  We're delighted for you & so proud!

Sept. 16/03  Jupiter took her first two show points at the Oakville & District dog show on Sept. 14. Congratulations to her family!  One female puppy (ChaCha) still remains.  See below for more info.

Sept. 14/03  Hudson (formerly Bravo), the male puppy, has been sold leaving one female available (ChaCha).  She is now 11 weeks old, and comes with two sets of shots and 2 heartworm applications.  Email me for more information.

Sept. 8/03  17,014 visitors.  Two quality puppies  are still available to new homes: 1 female and 1 male.  The male, called "Bravo" is the one with the black collar. Bravo is a calm, sweet tempered, affectionate boy.  He's show quality, great on the agility equipment and has been doing to teeter-totter for some time now (barely off the ground of course), loves the tunnel & has never shown any fear of things moving underneath him.  The female, (green collar, named "ChaCha") was, when younger, a tad quieter than the others.  Both Bravo and ChaCha are show quality, clicker- and house trained and is  good with children and others dogs.  Can't get much better than that!   Also created  new webpages for a couple of Nova & Sasha's other offspring including Shandy and Ruby.  Am still working on pages for the other puppies in this litter.

September 6, 2003  16,962 visitors.  It's been a busy, busy month with puppies leaving for their new homes.  I've had problems accessing my website for a week so very soon I'll have some new puppies photos posted. I've decided to keep a female, rather than a male.  The pick, show quality male (black collar) is now available.  He's 10 weeks old, very sweet, about 95% house trained, clicker trained, and ready to go.  Serious show & performance enquiries only and I want him to stay in Ontario so no out-of-province enquiries please.

Belated birthday greetings to Bob, Jester, WinstonBart & Tammy who turned 8 years old on August 22.

August 10/03 16,354 visitors.  Loaded LOTS of new puppy photos!  They turned 6 weeks old last Thursday and are they ever gorgeous, lovely pups!  Their temperament is absolutely wonderful!  Congratulations to owners Elizabeth Packer & Steven Fusilier who own Am CH Varazs Gryphon's Magical Mist JH CGC.  Gryphon just earned his Canine Good Citizen (CGC) title.

August 6/03 16,248 visitors.  Sara's a new American Champion! Congratulations to Pamela Lambros of California who owns Sara. That brings our count of show champions up to 20 now.  Mila, sired by Sasha, earned two legs of her Agility Intermediate title recently and took first place in one of the trials.  Way to go Susan Scobie, of Vancouver, BC!   Our Nova/Sasha pups are almost 6 weeks old.  They are keeping us very, very, very busy.  About the only hours I now have to spend on the computer are between 12:30 AM and 5:30 AM.  Unfortunately, I also need sleep! So if I haven't replied to your email or enquiry, it's because of this (plus having a computer screen that recently died on me.)  But, it's a very beautiful, even tempered, even sized litter right now.  Of course, that will change as they grow and develop.  Despite the huge amount of work they create, my husband and I are really enjoying these puppies.

July 25/03  15,970 visitors.  Loaded more photos of puppies which turned 4 weeks old on July 24!  One female is still available.

July 21/03  15,835 visitors  It's been a very busy time. Puppies' teeth have started to erupt; last week, they tried their first solid meal made up of rice pabulum. We're beginning to feed them but mom is still doing most of the work for now.  They are starting to motor around with more confidence & have started playing, albeit briefly, with toys. Digital photos that I had taken of pups last week appear to have been deleted so I'll have to take some new ones to post.

Congratulations to Pamela Lambros of California whose dog Sara (born 2001) took Reserve Winners' Bitch at her local Vizsla club's Specialty Show (July 12th weekend) and a 4 point major on July 20th!  Congratulations to Christine Boyne of Toronto whose 13-month old Lola took Best of Opposite in Sweepstakes at the Vizsla Society of Ontario's  Specialty Show (July 12) and the same win at Vizsla Canada's National Specialty Show (July 13). Lola also made the cut for Best of Breed at Vizsla Canada's National Specialty Show with judge Joan Beech.  I do have some photos of these 2 girls but haven't had time to post them (due to puppies of course).

July 10/03  Puppies are 2 weeks old today and have reached a milestone.   Those first 14 days are critical for their survival but they are still susceptible to lots of things so they are monitored often and carefully.  Stitches from the tails came out on Sunday & Monday & everything is healing nicely.  Pups appear strong and for several days already have been trying to motor around on all fours without sight or hearing.  By today, all eyes are now open & they are beginning to discover their voices. Their legs are getting stronger & they can take a few steps without falling over.  A thick sponge mattress and some "Martha Stewart" designer bed sheets soften the blow!   Keeping mom & pups well fed is a challenge.  I am bottle feeding 2 times/day to help everybody out as it's a big drain on mom & we want to ensure all pups get a good helping at each meal.  We're pleased to see that all continue to put on weight.  Will be taking more individual shots & posting them on the weekend.  Stay tuned!

July 8/03 Posted some more puppy photos!  Pups' eyes are just beginning to open.  Congratulations to Susan Scobie and Mila for attaining their first Utility leg in June.  Mila's dad is Sasha who just sired our latest litters.

June 29/03  Added more photos of the pups at 3 days of age. And, added recent photo of Bart.

June 28, 2003  Created a new page for Nova's puppies with photos of the pups taken just a few minutes to a couple of hours old.  Pups have had their tails and dewclaws done already.  Nova is being an excellent mom & puppies are gaining weight steadily.  Also added couple of photos of Kati & a recent photo of Chloe

June 26, 2003
12 noon.  We're in shock!  Ten puppies in total, 7 girls and 3 boys were delivered by Nova.  Mom & whelps are doing fine; all puppies had good weights ranging between 10.2 and 13.8 oz.  Congratulations to mom and to Sasha, the dad!  Photos will be posted later today.
9:00 AM 1 more girl and finally, a boy!  Yeah!
7:50 AM - another two girls!
6:45 AM Nova has delivered 3 beautiful girls with healthy weights.  More puppies to come!

June 10, 2003  I have found a home for Milo in Toronto which I hope will work out and so at this moment, he's no longer available.  Alex Richard's two male puppies have gone.  Nova is definitely pregnant and as big as a small house with about 2.5 weeks still to go. I will be taking a couple more reservations for puppies in case we have one or two more than expected.  Lola finished her Cdn Championship on June 1 before her first birthday as a Sr. Puppy, our youngest female CH to date!  Congratulations and thank you to co-owner Christine Boyne.  Added Sara's OFA hip clearance certificate number (evaluated as "Good").  Added some terrific agility photos of Keira from our first-ever trial on May 19.  Thanks to Craig MacDonald of Waterloo, ON for the photos.  Birthday greetings to a lot of dogs this month! Abby, Chloe, Keira & Tasha celebrated their 6th birthday on June 5 and Nova, her 4th birthday on that same day.  Milo, Jupiter, Kati & Lola turn 1 year old on June 13th.

May 6/03  Added new show photo of Sara and Lola's most recent Best-Puppy-in-Group photo. Updated Gryphon's page with his OFA hip clearance number (hips were evaluated as 'good').

May 4/03  14,204 visits.  Mila has become #4 Obedience Vizsla in Canada for 2002!  Congratulations to owner/breeder Susan Scobie of Vancouver!  Lola took her 2nd Best Puppy in Sporting Group under Sporting Dog Breeder/Judge Honey Glendinning of BC at the Seaway Kennel Club show in Thorold, ON.

Nova was bred to Sasha and puppies are due near the end of June.  Alex Richard (Kivalo Vizslas) of London, Ontario has two male puppies (see photo below) remaining from a litter whelped a couple of months ago.  They are ready to go to new homes right now!  Contact her at 519-434-3681 for details.

April 20, 2003 13,932 visits.   Lola took another Best of Breed and Best Puppy in Breed on Good Friday for 2 points and Best Puppy in Breed on Sat.  Sara won Winners Bitch, Best of Winners and Best of Opposite 2 days this Easter weekend for 4 points.  Way to go girls!

Nova has come into season and will be bred to Sasha.  See Puppies page for more information.  Unfortunately the breeding between Amber and Dakota didn't take and Amber has no puppies.

April 9, 2003  13,686 visits.  More great news from Susan Scobie and her Mila (sired by my Sasha).  Less than 3 weeks after earning Mila's Tracking Dog title, Susan and Mila and Mila's dam, Lucy, earned their first agility titles - Agility Novice  - from the CKC and also had 1st, 2nd, & 3rd placements.  Congratulations!

We think Amber is pregnant with puppies and I am patiently waiting for Nova to come into season to breed her to my Sasha.  In the meantime, I have decided to place Milo, a 10-month old, male puppy  from my last litter and would like to find an obedience competition home for him.

I eagerly await the final arrival of spring so I can get my dogs into outdoor field, obedience and agility training since we have trials and competitions in the next couple of months.  It's been a long, cold, snowy winter in southern Ontario.

March  Added new photos of Kosmo.

13,340 visits. Deepest sympathies go to Judith and Peter Arato of Calgary, AB  whose 15 year old son, Daniel, died in a skiing/ avalanche tragedy in early February in British Columbia.  They bought "Marco", a Vizsla, from me a number of years ago.  I was also very saddened to learn that sweet Zuzu lost a brief battle with mast cell cancer on February 15.  Condolences go to her loving family, Ginetta & Todd Peters and their two sons, of Toronto.

On happier notes, Lola (out of Tasha & Charlie) owned by Christine Boyne of Toronto, took Best of Breed and Best Puppy in Group at the Orangeville dog show under Judge Eva Whitmore on March 9.  Pam Lambros handled her Sara to Winners Bitch two days in a row at shows in California; Judge Judy Doniere called Sara, "a very pretty bitch".  Elizabeth Packer of California and Gryphon earned their second leg of his CD last month.  Kati, another bitch out of Tasha & Charlie owned by Sherryanne Farr and Wes Daniels of Alberta, took Best of Breed as a Sr. Puppy over Open-class Vizslas for 2 points at Kati's  very first show on March 22.  Susan Scobie and Mila earned their Tracking Dog title on March 23, 2003. Congratulations to everyone!

Updated CERF eye clearance information on pages for Keira, Nova, Sasha, Tasha and Milo.  Added new photos for Nova and Milo and new photos will be added to Amber's page very soon.

I have decided to place 9-month old Milo in a new home. See his page for more information.

February  12,757 visitors.  My deepest sympathies go to Joy White who lost her beloved Jazz on Nov. 15, 2002, just 1.5 months short of his 10th birthday.  It appears he had herniated discs in his back.  Jazz was an absolutely wonderful Vizsla and I will miss him dearly.  Milo's photo appeared in a feature about our local Santa Claus parade in the local newspaper.   Birthday greetings in February to Amber, Bartok, Otis and Rosie who turned five years old on Feb. 2/03.  More birthday greetings to Calvin, Gryphon, Luke, Rozsa, Sara, Sly and Toby who turned two years old on Feb. 21, 2003.

Lola from our last litter went into her first show at 8 months of age on Feb. 8 and took Best of Breed from the Jr. Puppy Class for 3 points over 5 other Vizslas.  The next day, she took Best Puppy in Breed.  Congratulations to her very excited owner, Christine Boyne.  Amber, co-owned by Sherryanne Farr, Wes Daniels and myself was just bred to Dakota (CH Legacy's Magic Time) and puppies are due mid-April.  See the 'Puppies' page for details.   Posted new photos of Jazz, Jiggs, Jupiter, Milo, MilaZuzu.
