About Sasha
VITAL
STATS
There were two males pups of outstanding quality from Sasha's litter which became known as Sasha and Jazz. As puppies, they were almost identical - like two peas in a pod and I had a great deal of difficulty selecting which of the two to keep. In the end, Sasha stayed with us and Jazz went to a woman who was mainly interested in obedience and therapy work. Both dogs have gone on to finish their conformation championships in Canada and US as well as earning obedience titles and I am extremely pleased with how each has turned out. Sasha is my first home-bred, titled Vizsla. As well as being my first group winner as a breeder, he's also my first field titled dog and to date, my first CDX dog and first Rally-titled dog. He's also the first Vizsla I've owned/bred/trained to place in the Top 5 in Obedience standings in Canada! And the first to obtain a Rally Advanced-Excellent (RAE) title. Sasha is extremely sweet tempered and loving - a real "gentleman" with all dogs and people as demonstrated by his gentleness in playing with the pups we've raised in other litters and the dogs that come to our house for boarding. He is a delight to work with in obedience and has shown this by scoring a first in Open A with a score of 193.5 at only his second trial and a score of 193 and fourth place for his second CDX "leg". In May of 1999, we started training for his Utility (obedience) title and in 2004, he resumed competing at the age of 11.5 years of age. In the field, he is a keen and energetic hunter with a good nose and enjoys hunting both feather and fur and my plans are to return to training in FD in the summer/fall of 1999. Sasha's also very agile and loves to jump and climbs trees. With his powerful hips (OFA Excellent), he is able to jump straight into my arms from a seated position in front of me. Sasha started doing this as a young pup and it scared the dickens out of me because he almost knocked me over. He would also jump onto kitchen tables, the vet's examination table and our kitchen island. When he hopped onto the island where the stove top was, I realized I had to control his jumping behaviour. Fortunately none of the burners was on so he didn't burn himself. I put this behaviour "on cue" and now he jumps into my arms only when I give him a command. It's great for agility and for other situations when I don't want to lift him. Sasha is the best male Vizsla I've ever owned and I am proud to be his breeder. I simply wouldn't trade him for the world! Sasha sired three litters. In 1999, his second mating, he was bred to CH Pozsony Csongrad Lucy CDX FDX TD AGN CGC and their daughter Mila, OTCH-X Szuni Shooting Star UD FDX TD AGI CGC born July 25, 1999 earned 12 titles before the age of 5 in the areas of field, obedience, tracking & agility. Mila was also a #4 Vizsla in Obedience in Canada in 2002 and #1 Vizsla in obedience in Canada in 2004. Two other dogs from that breeding are titled: CH Szuni Rising Star FDJ CGC "Kosmo" and CH Szuni's Star Gazer "Elliott". At 10.5 years of age, Sasha was bred to Ch Ferngold Varazs Innovation Am/Can CD RE FDJ and the litter, whelped in 2003, has produced outstanding quality in conformation, obedience and field. So far (February 2009), 3 dogs have earned field titles (Miska, Vadasz and Zsofi), 6 are Cdn Champions (Hudson, Miska, Katya, Shandy, Vadasz and Zsofi) and two of these (Vadasz & Katya) earned a 4th in Sporting Group; 2 earned their American Championships (Miska and Vadasz), 2 (Katya, Hudson) are "pointed" in the US but didn't finish their titles. Miska and Shandy are also International Champions (IABAC) and Miska is a UKC Champion. Miska, Katya, Hudson & Vadazs have also earned rally titles in the US and Miska and Shandy have rally titles in Canada. Shandy also carries agility titles. All in all, these two litters have produced outstanding and very versatile offspring with great temperaments! |
